Imberbus 2021 – Advance information
Following the enforced Covid break last year, the organisers are pleased to announce that Imberbus will be running again this year on Saturday 21st August 2021 when once again, several vintage former London Transport Routemaster buses (plus a few newer ones) will provide a bus service from Warminster Station to Imber and other isolated locations on the Salisbury Plain between 10am and 6pm.
This year the event is being promoted as an Imber Car Free Day, as the only access to Imber on 21st August will be by travelling on the buses operating the Imberbus service. If you wish to make your own way to Imber, whether it be by car, bike, scooter or on foot, please delay your visit until the following week, as Imber church and the road through Imber will be open to everyone over the bank holiday weekend (please visit the Imber Church website events page for further details).
These new arrangements should hopefully eliminate the severe traffic congestion that was experienced around Imber in 2019, but may mean that there are a few restrictions on what you can and cannot do when you get there, details of which will be publicised on the Imberbus website next month.
If you have not travelled on the Imberbus service before and would like to know more about it, please visit the website which contains details about the history of Imber and the background to the service. Also retained on there, are details of the arrangements that applied for Imberbus 2019 plus Frequently Asked Questions page to give you an idea of what to expect, but this information will be updated once the final arrangements for this year have been confirmed in late July.
