1920 AEC K-type is coming to Transportfest

Another fantastic, and rarely seen, bus is now confirmed for Transportfest 2012 on Sunday 21 October: 1920 AEC K-type K502 is coming to the show and will be on display all day, as well as, it is planned, taking part in a drive-by for filming and photography.

The K-type was a radical new design after WW1, the first to place the driver alongside the engine, thus increasing seating capacity and finally ditching the “horse-bus with an engine” style of the earlier bus types.

Will this be the oldest bus at the show? We’ll see! Don’t miss this new bus and transport show at the Museum – bringing the 2012 season to a spectacular close.
