Sunday 21 April was the 40th annual Spring Bus & Coach Gathering, the South East’s biggest and most popular bus show. This year, over 4,800 visitors enjoyed the heritage bus rides, the 100s of buses & coaches on display, a huge collectors’ market, childrens’ attractions, open-top motorbus and horsebus rides and much more. Sunday 30 June featured A Sixties Summer, a celebration of the transport and music of that decade. Nearly 2,000 visitors saw the displays of 1960s buses, cars and commercial vehicles, rode on classic buses and enjoyed live 1960s music from The Radiators. A report of the event is here.
Sunday 20 October sees the return of the hugely popular Transportfest, a grand transport extravaganza with large displays of buses, taxis, vans, commercial, emergency and military vehicles plus heritage bus tours and rides on a 1920s open-topper and an 1890s horsebus as well as a large marketplace and children’s attractions.
This year’s Transportfest will also feature a celebration of 60 years of London’s little Guy Special buses with a special display and road run. All the event details here.
